Yesterday was my birthday. I turned 29 years old. Holy cow. I had a great weekend and pretty much celebrated the entire weekend which was kind of awesome. Saturday I had church which was awesome as a girl-night reunion with Krystal and Marissa. I don't know when three voices ever blended so well as ours do. I am sad that it will probably be the last time we will get to sing together. Then Eric came over and he, Steve, and I sat outside and watched fireworks while eating s'mores. We can see them decently well from our house in the front yard. Sunday we got to sleep in a bit and then had lunch with my dad, Thomas, Tori, and Trevor at the Mexican restuarant. Though we had a little trouble finding a table that my dad could sit comfortably in while in his wheelchair, the food was great and I even got a birthday dessert. Thankfully no one sang to me though. Steve and I then went down to Quincy to see a movie and have dinner. We saw Monte Carlo, which is just a chick-flick. The movie was good though the annoying girls who sat behind us and kept talking were not. We ended up moving farther away from them which helped some. Then we wen to TGI Fridays because I love that place. All in all it was a great day. Yesterday on my actual birthday I got woken up by my grandma who called to tell me Happy Birthday. We had lunch with her and my mom and stepdad at the local chinese restaurant, mostly because it was one of the only places in town that was open! After we went home and took a nap, we headed up to Carthage to watch fireworks with Eric since they were actually holding them on the 4th. We had dinner at a local restaurant that served us even though they had closed 15 mins before we got there. Then we hung out until it got dark enough. The fireworks were awesome and we picked perfect seats to watch. I got eaten alive by the mosquitos but otherwise it was awesome. I think this was one of the best birthdays I have had in a long time.
Regarding the recommittment. I have gained all but about 19lbs back that I lost. I realized that I hate feeling fat and gross so even though I am not really in the mood to focus on losing weight, I am going to focus on my eating at the least and start walking again. I am also drinking lots of water which my body really needs. So we will see if I can get my head in the game by forcing it to be. I had set a goal to be at my goal weight by my 30th birthday. So I have exactly a year to lose about 100lbs. Good grief. I may not be able to make that but I can surely put a good dent in it.
An elegant tapestry of quotations, musings, and autobiographical reflections.... I hope.

Week 12 and birthday stuff
This was my birthday weekend and I was really hopefull for losing two pounds this week so I could get to a total of 25lbs by my 28th birthday. Well, it didn't happen, which kinda sucks. But I wasn't able to get the kind of exercise in because a friend was here and she went with us and so we had to go much slower than we typically would. The nice thing was it showed me how much improvement I have made since I started twelve weeks ago. I still had an okay weigh-in, so the stats for this week are:
Weight loss this week: -1.0lb
Total weight loss: 24.2lbs
I did have a good birthday too though. I took Friday off and got a bunch of stuff done and had dinner with my dad that evening. Saturday I sang at church and then there were fireworks that night. We watched them from the front yard. Here are a couple of pics that we took while we were waiting for the fireworks to start.

My husband got me some beautiful roses for my birthday. He also got me a cross necklace that is gorgeous. I got a few things for the Wii, controllers, a couple games, and a charger for the remotes. We didn't do a whole lot yesterday on my birthday because there wasn't much going on. We did go out to dinner last night which was really nice. I had today off of work and Jenn and I went and did a little shopping. I also took this Friday because Steve has some time off so I will actually get to spend some time with him. Looking forward to that!

Birthday
Today is my 27th birthday. So far it's raining but it's supposed to stop by this afternoon so I will hopefully get to see the fireworks tonight. Of course, I would stand outside in the rain if it meant seeing fireworks on my birthday. Mom will be coming up today and dad is supposed to stop by as well. Planning on going to church tonight and am looking forward to that.
Jenn is here and we went out and around yesterday. Got some good pics out on the old bridge. We couldn't go out on it last year because it was still closed down from the flooding.
Now I think I shall get some brunch or something.

Hmm, no title comes to mind...
The spare bedroom is all done. I posted pictures on my facebook page. I just have to take a few more pictures of it completely completed. I am very satisfied with how it turned out and was glad that the room is "green" in that I didn't buy any new furniture but used what I had. The only sort of exception was a chair that I bought at the Salvation Army in Quincy to use as a desk chair. I cleaned it and polished it up and it fits in perfectly. The room is very relaxing and cozy, it will be perfect for guests. We are planning on putting up the door this Sunday after we get back from church. Hopefully it won't take us as long as it did the last one.
I checked out PAW last week but didn't really find any dogs that I thought would work with us. They don't have a lot of small dogs right now, which, I suppose is a good thing because that means they are in homes. So we are going to go down to Rutledge in July and find a beagle or something of that sort. We are both really looking forward to having a pet.
I am taking a "vacation" from June 29th through July 6th. I will be off for eleven days in a row and I can't wait. Mom and I are going to paint the living/dining room on the 29th and 30th. It is the last area that I have wanted to paint and the biggest. With two of us, it should go well. I can't decide if I want to prime it or not, though I know I should. Hopefully Steve will help me tape it off and that will make it go faster. Jenn will be here on the 2nd of July through the 6th. And of course my birthday is on July 4th. It's going to be an exciting and busy week! I am going to go see Wil in Morton on the 26th. I will leave after work and then be back on Saturday, hopefully before church starts. Steve will be off that same week that I have off so that will be nice. I am definitely looking forward to July!

Birthday!!
Happy 4th of July to you all and Happy Birthday to me! It's been a fantastic day so far. I got to wake up next to my wonderful husband today so that was a great start. Then I got my presents from him - a really pretty rain gauge and an awesome birdfeeder. He did a great job picking out things that are totally my style. He also made me a chocolate cake and sang happy birthday to me. We then met up with my dad and brother, Tori, and Trevor to have lunch at Pizza Hut. I got a book and three movies - Jumper, Fool's Gold, and Witless Protection. Mom came by this afternoon and brought me presents of two beautiful flower pots and stands to put on my front porch. They are perfect! Steve and I walked to the park and I got a funnel cake and a lemon shake-up. Both were wonderful. We are going to try watching fireworks from our house tonight so hopefully that will work well. I don't feel like going to the park again so I'm hoping I will be able to see them well or even sorta well from here.
